What you'll do

We are looking for an experienced, talented, and motivated Software Engineer to help evolve our automated testing framework and verify the end-to-end features of our distributed system.

You will need to exhibit strong communication skills, and define and successfully execute on the testing priorities in a dynamic development environment. Additionally, we are looking for someone who strives to use the latest and greatest technologies and is willing to propose change if they notice areas to improve.

The day-to-day

In this role you will be responsible for developing the test automation framework for a hybrid cloud solution, including back-end services and databases, internal and external REST APIs and embedded components. You will work closely with the engineering team to design, develop and build fully automated functional and performance tests in an agile, continuous integration environment.

What you'll need

5+ years software development in Python with a focus on QA automation
Bachelor’s degree in a relatable field or equivalent years of experience
Experience with web technologies (HTTP, HTTPS, HTML, DNS, CSS, JS)
Experience with planning, exploratory testing, defect reporting and troubleshooting
Experience with designing and running automated functional and performance tests
Experience testing client/server applications
Ability to comprehend complex system architectures and find creative approaches to testing them
Ability to debug complex issues thoroughly and describe them in detailed bug reports

What will help you on the job

Experience with Linux environment and network troubleshooting (dig, traceroute, ping, etc.)
Experience with VMWare and Cloud-based servers (AWS, GCP, etc.)
Experience with software configuration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef
Networking protocols: TCP, UDP, IGMP, HTTP
Video Streaming technologies (HLS, DASH, etc.)
SQL or noSQL database experience, i.e.., executing InfluxDB, mySQL queries
Strong verbal and visual presentation skills
Packet capture tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark

Salary range

$137,300.00 - $238,700.00 / annually
