Reporting to the Director of Strategic Consulting, the Strategic Consultant II is a Trusted Advisor; to our prospects, our customers, our teammates, our account managers, our delivery team, and our product management team. As a member of our dynamic team, you are the heartbeat of our go-to-market strategy with responsibility for the pre-sales process. You will collaborate across the organization to create a vision of how PROS will increase our prospect’s margin and revenue in a multi-channel world. As a Strategic Consultant, you will develop compelling business cases, create personalized solutions that resonate with the prospect, and demonstrate our software applications in conveying to customers how our solutions will solve their challenges.

A Day in the Life of the Strategic Consultant II - About the role:

Communicator: Communication is key! Presenting to our prospects and customers on the benefits of our strategic pricing solutions and how they fit into the organization's strategy is a core function. Trust is a crucial aspect of the relationship, and Strategic Consultants must be credible partners, demonstrating industry domain knowledge and “the art of the possible” using software and smart applications to increase their profits. Listening is one of the most important skills you will leverage as a team member and partner. You will be asked to quickly learn our prospects’ business models and make prescriptive recommendations.

Relentless Executor: Time kills all deals. You must hustle and stay hungry to win in this business. PROS Strategic Consultants never stop moving forward and driving sales execution. You must help to lead the customer on the need to change, providing new insights into their business, driving solution demos and constructing compelling value case to drive quantifiable revenue or margin improvements for our prospects. You will consult with our Solutions Engineering Team on how to execute personalized product demos for our prospects. Together, the Strategic Consultant and the Executive Account Manager will consistently move the needle in this role to achieve the sales targets.

Business Strategist: Price is the most impactful lever on profitability. Optimizing that price and delivering it to the customer in a frictionless manner is the name of our game. Thought leadership in business strategy, industry, sales effectiveness, and technology platforms is a critical aspect of your role as a Strategic Consultant. Delivering the ultimate end to end customer experience is what we do, and you will strategize with the internal teams to make that happen.

Innovator: Change is the only constant in technology. We must continually improve, excel and innovate on all fronts: the messaging of our solutions, our approach to business cases, and the content of our demos. You will drive thought leadership and brand awareness through speaking engagements, white papers, and articles. Imagine driving innovation by bringing market insight to internal stakeholders including product management and marketing, that’s you.

Required Qualifications - About you:

We are looking for candidates who possess the combination of the following achievements, skills and behaviors:

  • Consulting and/or work experience in pricing, sales operations, enterprise technology, and business strategy
  • Experience developing sophisticated business cases
  • Experience using or implementing software to enable pricing, analytics, sales or sales operations
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technical or engineering discipline

Highly Preferred

  • Pre-sales consulting or sales experience in the enterprise space for a complex software or application provider
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise software sales and/or software implementation
  • Experience presenting to C-level audiences
  • Experience with SaaS based products or cloud hosted products
  • Working knowledge of ERP and CRM systems
  • Experience using a challenger sales methodology with commercial insights

Travel Considerations

  • Willing to travel approximately 30%-50% of the time to prospects and customers based in North America
