FlexGen is currently searching for a Senior System Engineer to create technical requirements and specification for various energy storage projects. This role will drive the engineering service for all energy storage system modeling, interconnection applications and project development. The right person will contribute to the software configurations needed to make FlexGen energy management system perform on site. This role will directly impact FlexGen's success by providing continuity in technical execution for many of the world’s leading-edge energy storage installations.

The integration of energy storage requires software and technological solutions that play a critical role in the adoption of renewables at scale—offsetting the intermittency and reliability challenges that renewable power generation creates for the grid. Since its founding in 2009, FlexGen has supported deployments of more than 3 GWh of energy storage systems across the U.S. and internationally for utility, microgrid, and C&I customers. The Company’s proprietary software platform allows energy storage owners to deploy various power market strategies and combine storage solutions with any form of generation.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the projects design engineering, execution, and commissioning

  • Integrate the battery, PCS, and other LV/MV switchgear equipment in ESS system

  • Manage the vendor on major equipment (battery, PCS) specifications and qualification

  • Review electrical and mechanical drawings, as well as system protection coordination

  • Troubleshoot the issues on PCS, battery system and software during the integration test

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of BS degree in engineering or related technical field

  • Minimum of (6) years of work experience in electrical engineering or power system industry

  • Minimum of (4) years of work experience on power systems projects such as substation, power plant, or renewable energy

  • Understand three phase power system principles, such as short circuit protection, power system load analysis, voltage/frequency variance, and grid stability

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

  • Experience with relays and protection settings

  • Familiar with electrical single line diagrams, layout drawings, and network diagrams

  • Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and customers

  • Adaptable in quick pace environment

  • Eligible to work in US without sponsorship
