Reporting into the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, this role is a highly visible role within the UK central finance team, providing business partnering between finance and the Client Services team. The role will analyse financial data in various ways which in turn supports the Board and senior management in strategic or financial decision making.

Key Responsibilities:
The role has a focus on the following key areas:
Forecasting
- You will have overall responsibility for the maintenance of up-to-date turnover and net revenue forecasts for the UK business.
- Support service line MD’s to understand their forecasts and make decisions on resourcing
Client profitability
- Working in collaboration with your US equivalent, support Client Service’s understanding of client profitability metrics
- Understand client profitability by type of work completed and use this data to inform project pricing
- Work with client services to identify opportunities to improve client profitability through the use of different approaches or techniques
- Identify efficiency/synergy opportunities for example:
- Teams which are under-utilised which could take on work from elsewhere in the group.
- Parts of our process which take a disproportionately large amount of time and find new methods to solve this including considering where technology could help.
Project Pricing
- Work with client services to train and upskill the team on pricing work efficiently
- Develop and imbed a new process for project pricing
- Introduce a pricing review panel to review fee proposals
- Identify opportunities to value price work where higher fees can be generated
- Set minimum prices for certain activities
- Standardise pricing for common services – for example:
- Strategy development (based on numbers of interviews)
- Banner advertisements
- Translation and transcreation
- Focus on consistency of pricing across the UK and global businesses
- Rate card reviews
- Reduce pricing errors
Client overruns
- Support client services in the early identification of projects/retainers which are not meeting our profitability thresholds and support discussions with the client on overruns where it is deemed to the be client’s fault.
- Where overruns are caused by Gravity processes, work with client services to identify the reasons why it occurred.
Utilisation
- Support leadership with understanding staff utilisation and be involved with discussions about staffing and resourcing of projects
Reporting
- Develop a commercial finance report for the business highlighting the key areas identified above and the progress on each
Contracting
- Build an understanding of the way that we contract and the key risk areas
- Ensure that appropriate documentation is saved to NetSuite for each MSA / SoW
- Review SoW’s prior to issue to clients
- Support the negotiation of client contracts and project manage the process where an agreement needs to be escalated to legal or to group finance.
Experience / Skills Required:
- Previous experience in a FP&A role
- Degree or equivalent desirable but not essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience of working in a multi-site global organisation
- Advanced Excel and PowerBI skills
- Exceptional business partnering skills
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- NetSuite experience would be advantageous, but not essential
- Work collaboratively within a highly motivated agency team
- Understanding of the creative process and marketing disciplines is desirable but not essential
- Highly organised, exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, innovation, and creative thinking
