Financial Planning Analyst

FlexGen is seeking a FP&A analyst to perform our company's forecasting duties and make recommendations to improve our efficiency. The FP&A analyst will be responsible for maintaining forecasting, including fluctuation analysis. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing changes and new procedures based on the thorough review and analysis of our current policies, resources, operations, processes, and procedures.
FlexGen is a leading energy storage solutions (ESS) technology company based in North America. The company's storage platform integrates with the physical ESS and all levels of utility and microgrid projects as well as providing remote operational support and use configuration analysis enabling clients to effectively manage energy production. Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and/or maintain forecasting models and dashboards, including but not limited to P&L, treasury, backlog, and revenu
- Support in the creation of monthly reporting packages including the consolidation of flux analysis
- Maintain FlexGen’s financial data structure and build/automate financial dashboards and analysis in partnership with Accounting, Business Operations, Operations, and Sales
- Translate business strategies, initiatives, and projects effectively into financial modeling
- Continuously seek new ways to leverage business data to offer new insights and aid decision making
- Responsible for annual budgeting process
- Create ad-hoc reporting as requested
- Partner with Business Operations and across the organization to implement automation and process improvements by diagnosing and identifying problems and needs, and ensuring alignment with visions, strategies, and goals
Position Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience working in fast-paced FP&A or corporate finance
- Bachelor’s in finance, economics, statistics, accounting, or related field required; advanced degree is a plus
- Desire to help position Finance team as a strategic business unit rather than a team that only processes transaction
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong business acumen and understands business implications of decisions beyond just financial implications
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP software a plus
- Willingness and ability to work cross-functionally with other teams, including Operations and Sales
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and time management skills
- Ability to work 2-3 days per week from Durham, NC HQ
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
