Role Description:

Capco are seeking a Commercial Operations & Finance Analyst (Client Account Manager) who will work within the Commercial Operations team and support a Portfolio of Client Accounts through the Sales Lifecycle (pre-deal support, post-deal support and revenue recognition), whilst also having exposure to our Finance and Accounting teams when it comes to month-end activities.

The individuals initial focus would be would be to familirise themselves with the existing tooling and processes (as a basis of accurate management reporting and billing) whilst supporting an overall Portfolio Lead with the day-to-day running of a Client Account Portfolio. Over time the individual would gain a level independence and lead / own Client Accounts and day-to-day engagement with the internal Executive management of the accounts on all commercial aspects of management, helping management maximise business performance.

The Commercial Operations & Finance Manager will work within a wider Capco team and support a Portfolio of Client Accounts.

Main functions: Contract and Revenue Administration, Account Executive Relationship Management and Reporting/Analysis

Key Responsibilities

Depending on the level of experience the role can be structured differently, example structure includes:

  • Month 0 – 6 responsibilities:
      • Project Setup, Maintenance & Closure using the PeopleSoft Finance Application
      • Data analysis on Revenue, Cost, Project Margin and Headcount across our Financial Services clients
      • Generating analysis and insight that can be presented and actioned by internal Executive management to achieve strategic outcomes
      • Supporting Directors and Client Partners on pricing discussions using Pricing Models / Billing Templates
  • Month 6 – 12 responsibilities:
      • Supporting the Consulting Business through the Sales Lifecycle:
          • Pre-Deal Support (Pipeline Management, Pricing & Contract Options, Margin analysis & optimisation, Rate Card negotiation). This extends to include the interpretation of contractual information such that they are compliant with Capco internal standards
          • Post-Deal Support (Deal review & booking, Project Financial Management including Margin Control & OptimiseSupporting Finance & Accounting teams with the Revenue Recognition process which includes:
            • Timesheet Management
            • Client Forecast / Budget
        • Support and enhance existing Operational processes, including but not limited to Sales Tracking and P&L reporting
        • Work closely with colleagues in Finance and Resource management to improve information flow and cost-effectiveness across support functions
  • Month 12+ responsibilities:
      • Leadership of a small team and Portfolio of accounts
      • Subject Matter Expert in complex deals / Data / Accounting / Reporting

Experience

  • Ideally 2 years in a similar profession
  • Experience of Financial / Commercial Analysis (Desirable)
  • Strong understanding of IT systems for example Peoplesoft / Anaplan (Ideal)
  • Experience in a similar environment, preferably Professional Services firms (Ideal)
  • Exposure to Contract types for example Time & Material and Fixed Price (Ideal)

Additional Requirements

  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Excel (Desirable)
