About the Role

We’re looking for hands-on Cloud Engineers with a thorough understanding of cloud technologies and service ecosystem to help to deliver, manage and evolve cloud systems on some of the most exciting digital programmes around, with clients in a range of industries.

You'll work with our Managed Service teams alongside service analysts, service delivery managers, developers, architects, designers, analysts and product owners to support and resolve incidents and to drive innovation and automation, tooling and cloud infrastructure development.

You will have an opportunity to join our cloud academy as well to further your career and learn more about cloud technology.

You will help to deliver continuous improvements for our cloud customers, diagnose and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure problems and help our customers adopt cloud natively.

The role will have flexible working hours on a shift system and will possibly include occasional late night shifts or out of hours working. Ultimately, you will be a person our customer’s trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with our service delivery teams to help support cloud infrastructure.
  • Helping to identify, prioritise and complete backlog items to evolve client’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Researching and identifying solutions to complex cloud infrastructure issues.
  • Be able to understand and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Tracking cloud related issues through to resolution, within agreed SLA’s
  • Prioritising and manage multiple ongoing issues.
  • Managing a communication plan for customer issues.
  • Automating manual processes
  • Documenting technical knowledge
  • Maintaining strong relationships
  • Configure and use observability tools to pre-empt issues and use them during troubleshooting
  • Provide guidance on common security issues.

About You

To be qualified for this role, an understanding of Microsoft, AWS or GCP technologies, experience of Terraform or similar IaC tool. If you’re naturally a problem solver, enjoy assisting customers with software or infrastructure issues and are able to explain complex technical issues and details simply, we’d like to meet you.

Requirements for the role

  • Proven work experience as a cloud, devops or Site reliability engineer.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft, AWS, or Google cloud services, ideally at the Professional/Expert level.
  • IaC technologies such as Terraform, BICEP, Cloudformation
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot advanced technical issues.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (eg. Jira, ServiceNow) and similar native cloud tooling
  • Demonstrate hands on experience with of containers & K8S
  • Strong knowledge of serverless architecture
  • Knowledge of the operation of PaaS databases
  • Extensive experience of Ci/CD tooling (repo’s, pipelines, releases etc..)
  • Demonstrate hands on experience with cloud observability and how it can be used.
  • Have experience of landing zone deployment and management
  • Demonstrate hands on experience with secure cloud networking
  • Be able to work within multi-account/subscription configurations
